The Ifakara Health Institute (IHI) is a well-known African non-profit research institute, registered as a Trust in Tanzania, that has spearheaded numerous malaria research projects. IHI maintains a vibrant and dynamic medical entomology research team for which the long-term goal is to develop, evaluate and promote the delivery of malaria vector control interventions and complementary methodological tools that are affordable and effective in African settings.
IHI collaborates with village communities, which makes it possible to conduct community-based trials. In collaboration with In2Care in the MCD project, IHI is setting up a large field trial in Tanzania.
